Objectives:

The Ottawa Mandarin School's aims are to foster the development of multiculturalism in Canada, to develop the ability of Chinese Canadian children in the use of their ancestral language, to strengthen their understanding of Chinese culture, to cultivate the five concrete qualities of moral, intellectual, physical, social and artistic education, to work for the establishment of a multicultural society and to cultivate Chinese culture.  It is also our mission to provide this same education for children of any other ethnic background as well who are interested in learning the Chinese language and culture.

The School provided instruction in Traditional Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing using the BoPoMo phonetic method and daily conversation as well as Chinese culture with Canadian content.   The School is affiliated with the International Languages Program of the Ottawa Catholic School Board.

本校為一註冊的慈善機構；以發展加拿大多元文化，培育華裔子弟使用國語之能力，確立對中華文化之認同，培養『德、智、體、羣、美』五育兼顧的品質，發揚中華文化融於多元社會為宗旨。

教學方針：

訓練純正國語發音，以注音符號為主及漢語拼音指導為輔發音，按聽說讀寫循序漸進的方式，提高語言文字之表達能力，教材以正體字為準，介紹中華文化，生活習俗與傳統價值，注重加拿大日常生活對話使用中文。
